Book Recommendation:
Jerry Dunleavy and James Hasson authored an extremely well-researched and important book exposing the incompetence of the botched Afghanistan withdrawal. You can buy it here:

To Hell With You People Continued:
Over 12 years ago, Jonah Goldberg wrote a post titled, “To Hell With You People” that always stuck with me. The point of the post was that at every possible opportunity, the liberal press tries to blame violence on the right’s rhetoric or policies even if there is little or no connection. They do this while ignoring similar or worse rhetoric on the left.
Not much has changed.
This past week, NBC News and the Associated Press published articles citing liberal activists and Democrats trying to blame Ron DeSantis’ rhetoric and policies for the recent racially motivated murders at a store in Jacksonville. Neither article could actually connect DeSantis or his rhetoric to the murderer in any way, but that didn’t stop them. This type of smear is despicable and worthy of condemnation when it comes from partisans, but it’s indefensible for news organizations to run with it. In a responsible media environment, the authors and editors would face real consequences for abusing their platform in this way. Instead, it will be rewarded with clicks and the same people who promote it will then wonder why the press is so disliked by many Americans.

Many of us have experienced a family member or friend telling us about a “new opportunity” that turned out to be a scam or pyramid scheme. It’s frustrating to listen to because the fraud is so apparent and we can’t fathom how the person doesn’t recognize it. That’s how I feel when I hear anyone speak positively about Vivek Ramaswamy.
