Update on Last Week’s Bigot of The Week
Last week’s newsletter identified Briahna Joy Gray as the most hateful antisemite with a major media platform. After she used that platform to again deny that any rapes occurred on 10/7 and dismissively rolled her eyes while interviewing a family member of one of the Hamas hostages, that title no longer applies.
The Hill fired her last Thursday. I’m not big on rooting for people to get fired, but The Hill can’t maintain a reputation as a serious news organization while allowing their platform to be used for continuous propagandizing and bigotry. They needed to disassociate from her vile bigotry, and I am glad that they did.
As though she was trying to validate her critics, Gray started retweeting wannabe neo-Nazis like Jake Shields almost immediately after she was fired.
I’ll end with this little lesson:
Fired FDLE Employee Was Not a Whistleblower
Earlier this year, several news organizations reported on an ongoing dispute over a request for Florida Gov Ron DeSantis’ travel records. Those reports included claims insinuating that one Florida Department of Law Enforcement staffer and her boss were fired as retaliation for trying to get the department to release those records. However, a new internal report confirmed that the staffer and her boss were terminated over an extensive list of wrongdoings, including credible allegations of “harboring an inappropriate workplace relationship, creating a hostile work environment, and other actions of misconduct.”
